Shipping Marketing - New Products & Services Seaways launches service on west coast
Our Bureau Hyderabad, Sept. 4 The Seaways Group, a shipping and logistics services provider, has introduced a new service with an Indian flag vessel called MV Kinship Bangar on the west coast of the country. This service will connect Pipavav port to JNPT and Mangalore port. The vessel has 354 TEU capacity and 80 reefer points on board. It will be useful to the trade during the forthcoming reefer season on the west . This vessel is capable of carrying dry and reefer cargoes and cater to domestic cargo movement between Pipavav and Mangalore. The Seaways Group CEO, Mr Vijay Gopal, in a statement said: “There is tremendous potential on the west coast, particularly with reefer and domestic cargoes.” This service is to be flagged off from JNPT on September 7 to Mangalore, followed by JNPT to Pipavav. It can prove strategic to Nhava Sheva port for trans-shipping containers and for providing connectivity to the North out of Pipavav. Exporters based in the Northern region can use this service and ease traffic on the heavily congested route.
