L&T bags orders worth Rs 267 cr

Mumbai, Sept 4 Engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has secured two contracts valued at Rs 267 crore from Indian Oil Corporation and Liaoning Huajin Chemical Corporation, China, for their capacity expansion projects. The orders are to be executed by L&T’s Heavy Engineering Division.

One contract is for coke drums of foster wheeler design, for the residual upgradation and MS/HSD improvement project for IOC Gujarat.

Each coke drums weigh 520 tonnes and is made up of special grade steel- Cr-Mo steel with stainless steel (SS410) overlay. L&T had earlier manufactured & supplied critical hydrocracker reactor and VSS reactor for the oil major.

The other contract, for Huajin’s 200KTA ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol project, is for design, manufacture and supply of two ethylene oxide reactors, involving special tubes made of duplex stainless steel. Ethylene oxide reactors are critical equipment for ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol unit in a petrochemical plant.
