Bank strike on Sept 12

Our Bureau

Coimbatore, Sept. 7 While employees and officers of banks under the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) banner have decided to observe an all India strike on September 12, the Central Bank Employees Union has given a strike call on September 13 to condemn the termination order served on an office bearer of the union by the Central Bank management.

About 150 employees staged a demonstration in front of the bank’s regional office in Coimbatore on Thursday in protest.

The September 12 strike is to press their demand for one more pension option, compassionate appointment, and against outsourcing.
