Fomil to expand marketing network

G.K. Nair

Kochi, Sept. 17

Foam Mattings (India) Ltd (Fomil), a Kerala Government undertaking in Alappuzha, as part of its plans to expand its marketing network, is to enter into tie-ups with the State-owned co-operative marketing federations and private agencies in various parts of the country.

It has already tied up with Supplyco and Consumerfed for marketing its products through their outlets.

Direct marketing

The unit, having modern machineries for latex backing, fully automatic looms and dyeing facilities apart from skilled workers has been mainly concentrating on taking up jobs for the exporting companies. In addition, now Fomil has ventured into direct marketing of its wide range of products, Mr S. Ratnakaran, Managing Director of the company, told Business Line.

Theme-based designs

The company’s brand name “Fomil” has become popular in the overseas market. “Its Kerala-focused theme-based designs have become a major attraction in the domestic market,” he said.
