Diversified basket: A worker giving finishing touches to a jute mat at a manufacturing unit in Alapuzha, Kerala. India enjoys a 30 per cent share in the global jute goods market. The country earned around Rs 1,200 crore exporting jute goods during the 2005-06 fiscal. The US is the single largest market for Indian jute diversified products. It buys 48 per cent of the total jute products exported from the country. –
