Info-Tech - Mergers & Acquisitions
Core Projects to buy US, UK firms

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Sept. 27

The city-based Core Projects & Technologies Ltd has finalised three acquisitions in the US and the UK for a total sum of $45 million, to further strengthen its position in the global education space.

These acquisitions — which will be funded out of the proceeds of the FCCB raised by the company in May — will enable Core Projects to further widen its suite of educational products, according to Mr Hari Iyer, Director, Core Projects & Technologies. In the UK, the company will be purchasing the East Yorkshire-based Azzurri Education and the Hampshire-based Hamlet Computer Group.

Azzurri provides technology products, services and educational software to over 1,000 schools in the UK and some 12 local authorities, while Hamlet provides IT systems to organisations around the world. In the US, Core intends to acquire the global businesses of KC Management Group (KCMG) and its subsidiaries.
