Mining meet in Kolkata from Jan 17-19

Kolkata, Sept 29 Kolkata will host the 2nd Asian Mining Congress (AMC 2008) from January 17 to 19, 2008, organised by The Mining, Geological & Metallurgical Institute of India. Concurrently, the International Mining Exhibition (IME 2008) will be organised between January 17 and 20, 2008 in association with the TAFCON Group.

Around 600 participants from 20 countries are expected at AMC 2008, according to Mr R.P. Ritolia, President of MGMI and Chairman and Managing Director, Central Coalfields Ltd.

Mr Ritolia told newspersons that the theme of the exhibition was ‘Mineral Resources in Asian Countries — Innovative Solution for Exploration and Expansion’. Over 60 papers would be presented by experts from India and other countries. A buyer-seller meet would be held and equipment makers such as BEML, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi and L&T would display their latest offerings at the exhibition.
