Our Bureau Hyderabad, Oct. 1 To educate women about breast cancer and conduct mobile breast-screening, Dr Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education has launched a campaign in association with Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation and MKC Roko Cancer Trust.“For the last eight years, Dr Reddy’s has made oncology drugs more affordable. Along with focus on treatment, we want to do something on prevention side and the present campaign is a part of this objective,” Mr K. Satish Reddy, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, told newspersons here on Monday. Dr P. Raghu Ram, Director, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences and CEO of Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation, said the mobile screening unit would visit different parts of the city on pre-announced routes to spread awareness and offer free breast screening for women. “We have tied up with international agencies such as Breast Cancer Care, UK, and the London-based MKC Roko Cancer Charitable Trust. We plan to empower women by educating them on breast cancer through counselling and specially prepared write-ups,” he said. Research centreA modern breast-cancer clinical and research centre would be set up at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences soon, he added. Mr A.P.S.
