Telecommunications Marketing - Promotions & Offers ‘Bundled offers on the rise in telecom sector’ Preethi J. Bangalore, Oct. 1 Indian telecom subscribers can expect ‘all-you-can-eat’ packages soon. With gaming, triple play and the booming digital content industry straddling the telecom industry, users will see the rising of bundled offers, according to Mr Scott Winks, Vice-President, Professional Services, Billing Business, Intec, a telecom (billing support system) BSS/OSS software maker. Billing in the telecom industry is complex due to the large-scale and the constant flow of new services, requiring amendments to the system. However, the BSS/OSS software lets the cellular operator make instant modifications. “The merger of the telecom and media industries has shaken things up. The India market has seen a stratospheric growth with new subscribers being added every minute and new services being created every month. The challenge will be to offer more for less - more services for less money and infrastructure,” he said. Rebates, cross product discounts and revenue sharing will be introduced. Billing serviceSubscribers will not feel the brunt of these changes, and will be proffered a single bill at the end of the day, he said. For Intec, India is the top market in APAC. The firm will focus on the finance industry for its billing solutions. “We are looking at new verticals. Finance will outstrip telecom business over the next 5-10 years,” he said. It also offers software for the transportation and insurance industries. More Stories on : Telecommunications | Promotions & Offers | Convergence | Software
