Cashew convention in Feb


The meet would discuss the future strategy for the industry.

The Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers’ Association (KCMA) is planning to host India Cashew Convention in February to chalk out strategy for the growth of cashew sector. Cashew associations from the other States will participate in the event.

A decision to this effect was taken by the new team of office-bearers at the 52nd annual general meeting of the association in Mangalore recently.

According to Mr K. Prakash Rao, who was re-elected President of KCMA for the fourth consecutive term at the AGM, the new team at KCMA discussed the priorities of the industry for the year and members expressed their desire to have a convention of all the cashew associations of India in Mangalore to chalk out the future strategy. The aim is to take this industry forward and ensure India remains at the no. 1 position in the world.

He said that the event, which will be conducted in February 2008, will be co-hosted by Goa Cashew Manufacturers’ Association and Maharashtra Cashew Manufacturers’ Association.

Following are the office-bearers of KCMA for 2007-08: Mr K. Prakash Rao (President); Mr D. Gopalkrishna Kamath (Vice-President); Mr Krishnananth P. Mallar (Treasurer); Mr B. Rahul Kamath (Secretary); and Mr K. Pramod Kamath (Joint-Secretary).

Mr K. Sudhakar Kamath, Mr Rajaram Bhat, Mr P. Subraya Pai, Mr Kiran Kumar Kodgi, Mr H. Radhakrishna Nayak, Mr M. Manjunath Prabhu, Mr B. Rohidas Pai, Mr Ganesh Kamath, Mr Santhosh D’Silva, Mr K.S. Balram, Mr D. Gopinath Kamath, and Mr Yogish Mallya were elected to the managing committee of KCMA.
