The Kuttanadu region in Kerala has been sanctioned a special package of Rs 1,840 crore to tide over agrarian crisis. Rs 50 crore would be released immediately and the remaining amount will be disbursed over the next three years. It was also decided that the region would get a fair deal of assistance from the Rs 25,000-crore Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.
