Shipping States - Gujarat Cheng Lie launching new feeder service connecting Gujarat ports Our Bureau Kolkata, Oct. 4 Taipei-based Cheng Lie Navigation Corporation (CNC) proposes to launch from October 7 a new feeder and dedicated reefer service named Strait Pakistan Express connecting Singapore with Pakistan’s port of Karachi and Gujarat ports of Mundra and Pipavav, according to company sources. CNC is a major player in the intra-Asia shipping market and now owned by CMA CGM, which is France’s number one shipping line. To be launched in partnership with Sea Consortium, the service will deploy three vessels of 1,600-TEUs each with port rotation: Singapore- Port Kelang – Colombo – Karachi- Mundra- Pipavav - Singapore. 3 more servicesCNC also proposes to launch three more services in the Southeast Asia in the current month. These include Thailand Malaysia Express, a shuttle service in partnership with Pendulum Express Line to cover the trade route between Thailand’s Laem Chabang and Malaysia’s Port Kelang, from October 10, China 3 which will be a joint service with SITC Container Lines connecting China, Thailand and Vietnam from October 19 and North Vietnam Express to be launched independently by CNC from October 21 with port rotation of Haiphong-Quinhon-Hong Kong- Haiphong. These services join the three others launched by CNC in September, bringing the number of services launched in the region in the past two months to seven, the sources add.
