Lenovo, Radio Indigo make music on the road

Live broadcast from life-size Lenovo laptop model

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Oct. 4 Bangalore can now listen to radio beamed live from the road. From a ‘laptop’ suspended in air, in fact.

Lenovo has tied up with international music station 91.9 FM Radio Indigo to set up the ‘Lenovo and Radio Indigo Audio DJ Console’ in the city. From October 1, Radio Indigo is being broadcast live from an audio studio set up inside a life-size 3D laptop model planted in one of the city’s roads.

Projecting out from a hoarding 20 feet off the ground, the laptop model houses Radio Indigo’s studio (near Lenovo’s retail outlet on Cunningham Road). Seated inside the ‘Lenovo Y410’ laptop model are radio jockeys presenting shows live between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. — this will go on through the week till October 7.

This initiative at experiential marketing not only enables Lenovo to feature its latest innovation — the Lenovo 3,000 Y410 — but also allows Radio Indigo to “play out” its music in public.

Contests

Several contests have also been lined up each day. The winner will walk away with the Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop with an ‘audio DJ’ feature that allows users to play music even when the system is turned off.

Says Mr Prasanna Savnoor Rai, Country Manager - India Marketing, Lenovo, “Lenovo, in partnership with Radio Indigo, has conceptualised this innovative format to showcase the best of technology and music to excite enthusiasts in Bangalore.”

Mr Geoffrey Thomas, National Programming Director, Radio Indigo, says, “Broadcasting from a life-size laptop is much excitement for us and the city. Lenovo’s audio DJ laptop and Radio Indigo’s international programming are coming together to give Bangalore a whole new soundscape.”

This ‘laptop studio’ may also be taken to Goa, where Radio Indigo has a station. Radio Indigo has in the past also broadcast its music from the Lifestyle retail store in Bangalore.
