Foreign Banks States - Maharashtra Credit Suisse to expand Centre of Excellence in Pune Our Bureau Pune, Oct. 4 Credit Suisse on Thursday announced the expansion of its Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Pune into an additional new facility at the Wipro Business Park. Talking to presspersons, Mr Nick Bloom, Credit Suisse's Global Head of Centre of Excellence, said the bank would occupy three floors in Wipro's new building providing an additional 1,400 seats, equivalent to 150 per cent more space. He noted that the CoE currently has 750 personnel to support its IT, financial accounting and operations. This would touch 1,000 by the year end. Mr Bloom said the bank would increase the number of business processing roles and would begin with knowledge processing functions. It would begin with two areas in focus, equities, research and derivatives, and client centricity. It has about 50 personnel to start the operations. Mr Bloom said on Thursday the Pune CoE together with its counterpart in Singapore provided over 35 per cent of the bank's global IT support. The bank has four other CoE excluding Pune, Singapore, Raleigh Durham, North Carolina and Wroclaw in Poland. He noted that Wroclaw CoE had started in summer this year and Singapore has a headcount of around 2,000. North Carolina has about 800 on its rolls and added that by the year end it would have around 5,000 personnel across all its CoEs
