Infrastructure Industry & Economy - Events States - West Bengal Seven Bengal IT infrastructure cos to attend Bangalore expo Ambar Singh Roy Kolkata, Oct. 5 Some seven IT infrastructure providers from West Bengal will showcase their capabilities and offerings at the four-day Bangalore IT.com exhibition slated to begin from October 29. Stalls would be set up by them in the West Bengal IT Department’s pavilion, according to Mr Siddharth, Principal Secretary in West Bengal’s Department of Information Technology. He told Business Line that prospective investors in West Bengal’s IT sector were still not clear on the kind of IT infrastructure that was available in the State. Hence, this year, West Bengal was participating in Bangalore IT.com along with IT infrastructure providers. The companies that have confirmed participation at the event are The Chatterjee Group, Infinity, Globsyn Crystals, Belani Group, DCL, Bengal Unitech and Forum Projects. Among other things, these IT infrastructure providers will showcase models of modern buildings, ready-to-occupy buildings, IT parks and allied IT infrastructure that they have set up in West Bengal. “The participation by IT infrastructure providers in the Bangalore event will go a long way in removing the perception problem among prospective investors in the IT sector in West Bengal. They will now get to know what kind of IT infrastructure we have on offer. And it will be showcased not by the government machinery but by the stakeholders themselves.” One-to-One meetingsAccording to Mr Siddharth, one-to-one meetings between CEOs of IT companies and the infrastructure providers would also be organised. West Bengal has been participating in the Bangalore showpiece event since 2000. Last year, the West Bengal pavilion was declared the best among all at Bangalore IT.com.
