Tea Exporters lend support to CTC leaf at Coimbatore sale Our Bureau Coimbatore, Oct. 9 The total offering of tea at the Tea Trade Association of Coimbatore improved marginally to 5.54 lakh kg this week with leaf grades accounting for 1.91 lakh kg and the balance of the dust. Shippers to CIS countries operated selectively on the orthodox leaf grades. Internal demand was limited. Well-made Nilgiris tea, particularly the larger broken ruled firm to occasionally dearer levels. Others eased by Re 1-Rs 2. Limited quantityOnly limited quantity of the orthodox dust tea was on offer, and these were picked at easier levels. A few exporters and internal buyers operated. Exporters lent fair support for the brighter liquoring CTC leaf grades. The medium/plainer broken witnessed less demand and tended easier by up to Rs 2. There were some withdrawals as well. Select high priced popular CTC dust grades remained barely steady. Export enquiries were limited. The best CTC tea ranged between Rs 42 and Rs 50, while the orthodox high growns moved in the Rs 55 – 77 band. Good CTC dust grades quoted Rs 44 - 53 price range. More Stories on : Tea
