Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Oct. 10 Seaways group has inducted one more container vessel into its fleet, enhancing coverage to the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo. “She will start at Singapore today and reach Kolkata on October 16,” a company official told Business Line.

The new vessel MV Seaways Prestige with a capacity of 629 TEUs would enable the company to deploy additional tonnage to cover the Colombo-East India trade needs.

“Besides improving loadability and frequency on the East coast, the new vessel will benefit MLOs (Main-Line Operators) and NVOCs (non vessel operating carriers),” he said.

The induction would take the strength of company’s fleet to six vessels.
