Jeera futures gain on NCDEX

Mumbai, Oct 10 Jeera futures on NCDEX topped the list of gainers on Wednesday with a rise 2.5 per cent to Rs 10,835 per quintal. Good buying in the Unjha market supported jeera rally on NCDEX.

Soyabean futures rose 2.09 per cent to Rs 1,610 per quintal on good demand from soyameal industry. Castorseed futures were up 1.45 per cent to Rs 405 per 20 kg.

Potato zooms

On the MCX, potato Agra hit the upper circuit at Rs 644 per quintal on short covering. .

Potata Tarkeshwar futures settled with a gain of 1.9 per cent at Rs 649 per quintal due to short supply in the spot market.

Potato on NCDEX and cardamom on MCX were the losers for the day.

NCDEX recorded a turnover of Rs 2,240 crore up to 5 pm against Rs 1,935 crore on Tuesday. Active trades were high in among others pepper, guar seeds, chana, soya oil, jeera and soya bean. NCDEX’s Futexagri gained 0.69 per cent at 1,432.35 points and NCDEXAGRI (spot price indicator) was up 0.89 per cent at 1418.01 points.
