Real Estate & Construction States - Maharashtra Construction meet opens Our Bureau Mumbai, Oct 12 The 9th Total Infrastructure Construction Show 2007 – popularly known as Constru India Summit and Expo is being held here from October 12 to 14. The expo was inaugurated by Mr Jayantrao Patil, Maharashtra Minister for Finance and Planning, who said “India is opening up opportunities for building infrastructure to world standards.” A technical conference with the theme ‘India rising- challenges and opportunities for building a world-class infrastructure’ is to be held concurrently with the exhibition. Over l35 experts and exhibitors from India, Australia, Canada, China, Italy, Singapore, Turkey, the UAE and the US concerned with construction and infrastructure are taking part in the meet. Speakers from Delhi International Airport and Mumbai International Airport spoke of their plans for modernisation of the airports, which they were presently executing and said the first phase of modernisation was expected to be completed by 2010. A highlight of the expo will be a session on ‘Vision Mumbai’ and ‘Futuristic Approach in Building Concepts – energy efficient, environment friendly, intelligent buildings’ on Saturday, besides new projects on ‘Tech-Innovation in Construction’. The exhibition and conference is organised by India-Tech Foundation with the support of Government of India – Ministries of Civil Aviation, Road Transport and Highways, Housing and Urban Development and Steel, and the partner State is Maharashtra.
