Hyderabad, Oct. 14 Satyam Computer Services Ltd will focus on distributed leadership model to be ahead of its competitors in efficiency and business acumen, according to Mr B. Ramalinga Raju, Chairman of Satyam Computer.

At a press conference to announce the BEST Award from the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) for Satyam, Mr Raju said his company would compete head on with reputed system integrators globally.

At all levels

“Satyam will be more than 50,000-strong company by this year end. The organisational ability to learn faster than the competitors will define the success. We are imparting learning and leadership in a distributed model (at all levels),” he said.

The Hyderabad-based company had trained over 2000 ‘lifecycle’ (complete business offerings) leaders and many more were ready to take up bigger responsibilities, he added.

“Our investments in learning and leadership-making have given us many dividends and the BEST award is one of them,” he said.

“We spend about 55 per cent of revenues on human resource costs. The investment in learning is included in this,” he explained.

Participating through video-conference from the US, Ms Jennifer Homer, Vice-President (External Affairs), ASTD, said Satyam was the first company outside of the US (first company in Asia) to achieve No. 1 rank in the awards.

ASTD is the world’s largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals with members from over 100 countries.
