Chairman post vacant at Tuticorin Port Trust

Chennai, Oct. 17 The post of Chairman at Tuticorin Port Trust is vacant following the transfer of Mr N.K. Raghupathy to the Union Ministry of Food and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Mr Raghupathy, who was Chairman at Tuticorin Port Trust and Chairman and Managing Director of Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project, has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the ministry.

On July 28, Mr Raghupathy was asked to hand over both the posts to Mr K. Suresh, Chairman, Chennai Port Trust. Mr Suresh continues to hold additional charge to manage the Tuticorin Port Trust and the Sethusamudram project.

Mr Raghupathy, an IAS officer of 1975 batch, West Bengal cadre, was appointed Chairman at the Trust on April 2002.
