Catholic Syrian expansion

Chennai, Oct. 17

Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB) will set up 19 new branches by January 2008 taking the total branch network to 366. By March 2008 all these branches would be interlinked enabling the consumers to transact through any branch anywhere in the country, its Chairman and Managing Director Mr R Venkataraman told reporters here on Wednesday.

Wipro Infotech has been appointed by the bank to integrate the branches for which BSNL is providing the network. "After integration the client will not be restricted to the branch where he had opened the account but will be the client of the bank in totality. He can deposit cash or cheque and withdraw funds and carry out any other transaction from any of our branches anywhere in the country," Mr Venkataraman said. The bank is also introducing a number of target-oriented products to increase its customer reach. - Our Bureau
