Patni bags $200-m UK contract

Mumbai, Oct. 17 Patni Computer Systems Ltd has won a $200-million (Rs 800-crore) five-year deal to provide integrated services such as consulting, systems integration, application development and maintenance to the UK-based Carphone Warehouse Group Plc.

Under the deal, Patni will develop next-generation systems for Carphone’s global telecom and retail operations, said Mr Neeraj Gupta, Executive Vice-President, Patni Computer.

“With this deal, we become one of Carphone’s primary service partners in the areas of consulting, systems integration and application development and maintenance,” Mr Gupta told reporters on a conference call today.

The Patni scrip was down by 0.66 per cent on the BSE today.
