CLW makes 79 locos in April-Sept

Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) has surpassed the target for the first half of the current financial year (April-September) by producing 79 locomotives as against the 63 produced during the same period of previous fiscal. According to an official release issued by the railway outfit here on Friday, going by the first half performance, CLW is well-poised to achieve the production target of 200 electric locomotives for the year 2007-08.

Commenting on the financial performance, the release says that the allotted purchase grant for the current financial year is Rs 1,140 crore, out of which Rs 625 crore has been utilised till September 2007.

The expected expenditure on wage costs during the whole year is put at Rs 214 crore (Rs 109 crore expenditure incurred so far). Total credit expected from sale of locos and spares this year is planned at Rs 1,467 crore.
