APSRTC to tap realty options

Hyderabad, Oct. 19

The AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Urban Mass Transit Company Ltd, which is a joint venture company formed by Union and State Governments, APSRTC and ILFS. "Besides upgrading bus terminals and amenities, the MoU would help the cash-strapped public transport utility commercially exploit the vacant sites it has in vantage points in several cities and towns," the Corporation said here in a press release. The agreement is to study projects that could be taken up under public-private partnerships. It would also explore opportunities to access funds from Government and multilateral funding agencies. - Our Bureau
