GMR Hyderabad signs pact with Belgium co

Hyderabad, Oct 24 GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has signed an agreement with the Belgium-based Sabena Flight Academy to set up a modern aviation academy at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport coming up at Shamshabad near here.

The duo would form a joint venture company for establishing the academy by 2009 with an estimated investment of Rs 450 crore.

The investment would be rolled out in a span of three years for grounding infrastructure facilities for the academy.

“The academy will offer complete training packages for all aviation related activities, including pilot, cabin crew, engine engineers, technicians and aviation consultants,” Mr T. Srinagesh, Chief Operating Officer of GHIAL, said, commenting on the agreement.
