Amara Raja PowerZones

Hyderabad, Oct. 24

Amara Raja Batteries today announced the launch of the company's first PowerZone in Andhra Pradesh at Chouttuppal in Hyderabad. It plans to locate 40 more in the State. These PowerZones serve as one-stop shop for power solutions for rural and semi-urban markets. The company has thus far set up 30 PowerZones in the country and has sewn up plans to establish 500 by Financial year 2007-2008 across India. The Managing Director of Amara Raja Batteries, Mr. Jayadev Galla, said in a statement: "The consumer in the rural markets is today treated like a poor country cousin to the urban consumer. We want to change this perception and provide technology and expertise in batteries and inverters at PowerZone." - Our Bureau
