Air-conditioners & Refrigerators Blue Star Q2 net rises 150% on higher sales
Our Bureau Mumbai, Oct. 24 Central air-conditioning major Blue Star Ltd reported an increase of 150 per cent in its second quarter net profit to Rs 45.97 crore as compared to Rs 18.40 crore for the same period last year. Net sales for the quarter increased by 45 per cent to Rs 547.77 crore (Rs 375.91 crore). “Blue Star continues to grow aggressively this year in all three lines of business,” said Mr Ashok M. Advani, Chairman & Managing Director. The three lines of business — central and packaged air-conditioning, cooling products, professional electronics and industrial systems — saw better performance compared to last year. While the profit of the central and packaged air-conditioning business grew by 115 per cent accounting for 73 per cent total revenues, the cooling products business increased by 48 per cent. The growth in the segment was driven by sales of split air-conditioners and refrigeration products and cold chain equipment, according to a company release. The professional electronics and industrial systems business grew by 37 per cent. Going forward, the company has booked orders with Ahmedabad Airport, Pantaloon Retail, RBI, Aircel and Haryana State Agri Marketing Board among others.
