Hotel Leelaventure Q2 net rises 82%

Mumbai, Oct. 24 With increase in occupancy and average room rates in Mumbai, and addition of inventory in Bangalore, Hotel Leelaventure registered a net profit growth of 82 per cent at Rs 40 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2007, against Rs 22 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The total income of the hotel increased by 47 per cent to Rs 117.7 crore (Rs 80 crore).

According to Mr Vivek Nair, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, “In the present buoyant market, Leela is poised for much stronger growth in both the business and leisure segments, in the immediate second half as well as in the coming years.”

Bangalore operations

He added, apart from increase in inventory, growth in the number of direct flights coming into Bangalore have also led to good performance from The Leela Palace Kempinski in the city.

Currently, in Bangalore, the total room strength for Leela is 357 with 105 new keys being added.
