Realty Web site Makaan.com launched

Bangalore, Oct. 25 The People Group’s consumer Internet Division, People Interactive, now offers a real estate service online at Makaan.com.

The Web site will help users make decisions related to buying, selling, renting and leasing of properties, in India and key global geographies.

The portal is currently focussed on the top 13 cities of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Indore, Kochi and Ludhiana.

Mr Anupam Mittal, CMD, People Group, said: “The Indian Internet community is fast growing and there is a surge in consumerism among the audiences. Fuelled by this growth, sectors like online real estate are looking extremely promising.

“Considering the potential of the industry, and the kind of investments that are going into it, we anticipate the online real estate market size to touch Rs 1,500 crore by 2015.”

Mr Aditya Verma, Business Head, Makaan.com, said: “At present we get close to three lakh property seekers per month. 46 per cent of our registered users are real estate agents.”
