City Union net rises 64%

City Union Bank’s net climbed 64.21 per cent to Rs 26.80 crore for the quarter ended September 2007 against Rs 16.32 crore during the corresponding period of the earlier fiscal.

Its interest income for the just-ended quarter rose to Rs 147.77 crore (Rs 97.35 crore), up by 52 per cent, while other incomes surged by 77 per cent to Rs 22 19 crore (Rs 12.55 crore).

While the operating expenses grew 25 per cent to Rs 26.24 crore (Rs 20.88 crore), interest expenses peaked to 81 per cent to touch Rs 96.54 crore (Rs 53.33 crore).

Total advances for the six months ended September 2007 increased 43 per cent to Rs 3,817 crore (Rs 2,665 crore) and deposits by 67 per cent to Rs 5,433 crore (Rs 3,844 crore).
