HC nod for Lanco Hills project
Our Bureau
Hyderabad, Oct. 26 A division of bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court today set aside a single judge order staying further activities on the ambitious Lanco Hills project, which seeks to create a satellite techno township including one of the tallest residential towers.
The order of single judge was granted staying all activities by Lanco hills and others in Manikonda village, Ranga Reddy district declaring that the lands belonged to Wakf board in a petition filed by Mr. Rahman.
The petitioner had contended that the lands in Manikonda village belonging to Dargah and the Wakf Board were alienated by the State Government to the Lanco Hills and others.
Order set aside
The bench set aside the orders of the single judge and posted the main writ petition for hearing in December 2007. The bench said that “High Court must feel that the injury to be suffered by the petitioner by non grant of interim injunction or stay will be much more than the injury which may be suffered by non petitioners on account of grant of interim order.”
The court observed that “it is evident that the Wakf Board will be satisfied if in the event of success of the writ petition, the State Government is directed to transfer the money collected.”
