Cadila Healthcare net profit up

Ahmedabad, Oct. 27

Growth in formulation exports and consumer business and good show put up by its US and France-based subsidiaries have increased the net profit of Cadila Healthcare Ltd (Zydus Cadila) from Rs 71 crore in the second quarter of 2006-07 to Rs 80 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2007. During the period, it reported a total income of Rs 610 crore, up 28 per cent from Rs 475 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, on a consolidated basis. The income grow th was mainly driven by 122 per cent growth in formulation exports and growth of 37 per cent in consumer business. PBIDT was up 21 per cent at Rs 132 crore from Rs 109 crore in the corresponding period last year. The company’s share price closed at Rs 300.05 on the BSE on Friday. —
