Seminar on captive mines

Our Bureau

Visakhapatnam, Oct. 28 The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is at a great disadvantage as it does not have captive iron ore mines and the repeated pleas of the company have gone in vain till now, and until the Union Government concedes the demand, the plant’s future will remain bleak, said Mr V. Dhana Raju, President of the Steel Plant Employees’ Union affiliated to the CITU.

He told a press meet here on Saturday that the union would hold a one-day seminar in the plant on Monday to discuss the problems faced by the plant and it would be attended by Mr M.K. Pandhe, national president of the CITU, and Mr P.K. Bishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of the steel plant, and several other eminent persons in the steel sector.
