Andhra varsity, Heramec ink pact
Visakhapatnam, Oct. 29
Andhra University and the Hyderabad-based Heramec
Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding here on
Monday for cooperation in the area of petroleum
exploration. Prof. L. Venugopala Reddy, Vice-chancellor,
and Mr Anand Mudigonda, Executive Director,
exchanged the documents. Prof. Reddy said that the
university had introduced the two-year M.Tech course in
petroleum exploration in the Delta Studies Institute set
up under the aegis of the Department of Geology. "We are
also negotiating with Reliance and Essar for tie-ups," he
said. Mr Anand said Heramec was into oil exploration
and had obtained the rights to explore oil off the Gujarat
coast in collaboration with the Gujarat State Petroleum
