Management States - Karnataka ‘Take right decision at right time’ Our Bureau Bangalore, Nov. 1 Life is full of choices but the important thing is to make the right choice, said Mr L. V. Nagarajan, Managing Director of Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd. Delivering the convocation address at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s H. B. College of Communication and Management, Mr Nagarajan told the future managers to take the right decision at the right time. Having materialistic bent of mind is fine but there is a need to show concern to problems faced by the underprivileged section of society, he said. “Without money one cannot experience the conveniences of life but at the same time you need to think about the problems faced by our country and look for corrective measures. We still have the highest incidence of malaria and tuberculosis. Be concerned about such issues too,” Mr Nagarajan said. ‘Be conscious’Emphasising the need to be environmentally conscious, he told the future managers to harness nature’s resources intelligently and ensure optimum usage of water, sunlight as well as power and live harmoniously with nature. Building up a water literate society that values the raindrop would alone result in a water prudent world that will define and determine if we shall remain poor or become rich. “Remember, what is important is satisfaction of need and not satisfaction of desire,” Mr Nagarajan said. He also told them to learn the art of managing loneliness as they become lonelier while going up the corporate ladder. More Stories on : Management | Karnataka
