Unique achievement by a 100-year-old taxpayer

New Delhi, Nov 2 Mr F.D. Engineer, aged about 100 years, resident of Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh, filed his income-tax returns on July 31, and paid due taxes.

An official release said that the Finance Minister has personally appreciated the unique achievement and congratulated the taxpayer.

On request of the Finance Minister, the tax return of Mr Engineer was processed out of turn by the tax department on October 11 and intimation to this effect was handed over to his authorised representative on October 12, the release added.
