Spencer's hyper store

The Spencer's Hyper Market was inaugurated here in the vicinity of Andhra Loyola College on Monday by Mr Sumantra Banerjee, President of the RPG group, and the Chief Executive Officer of the retail wing. He said on the occasion that the hyper market, with 20,000 sq. ft., would offer "a wide range of products (25,000) from tomatoes to televisions under one roof". He said Spencer's had opened 320 outlets, 12 hyper markets, 11 supermarkets and 297 express and daily stores in 55 cities. "We have a customer base of 40 million at present. We plan to increase the number of stores to 2,000 in the next two years and 5,000 in the next four," he said. Mr Ramesh Menon, Senior Vice-President, said two more hyper markets would be opened shortly in Hyderabad. - Our Bureau
