Reliance Retail unveils ‘Footprint’

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Nov. 7 Within weeks of launching the ‘Wellness’ format, Reliance Retail has opened the footwear format ‘Footprint’ in Hyderabad and Bangalore ahead of Diwali.

Open only to employees of Reliance on the inaugural day, the store would be open for the public from Thursday.

US consultancy

Reliance Retail roped in the US-based retail design and architecture consultancy Pavlik for the ‘Footprint’ store. “This will be replicated in other places,” a company executive said. Besides top brands such as Reebok, Puma, Nike and Adidas, Reliance has allotted significance space for its private label brands like Mancini, Tosca, Viviana, Monza and Hi-Attitude.

More stores

“We have invested substantially on designing and making the private label brands,” a company executive said. He, however, refused to divulge the kind of investments that went into this aspect. The company plans to launch ‘Footprint’ stores in Kochi, Ludhiana, New Delhi and Noida in the next few weeks.

While it offered a 10 per cent discount for Reliance employees on the inaugural day, the public would get a silver coin on every purchase beyond Rs 1,000.
