Retailing Corporate - Announcements Gautam Thapar group unveils new corporate identity Our Bureau New Delhi, Nov. 15 The Gautam Thapar-led group of companies on Thursday unveiled its new group corporate identity. The around Rs 12,000-crore group, with presence in more than six diverse business verticals, will be known by its new brand identity Avantha group. Avantha will be the umbrella identity for all the Thapar entities, including BILT, Crompton Greaves, Solaris Chemtech, Global Green, Biltech, BILT Power and Salient Business Solutions. The new identity combines French and Sanskrit terms to express “growth with stability”. The three-pronged wheel of the Avantha logo is meant to signify continuous forward movement. With a global footprint and operations in 10 countries, the Avantha group employs 20,000 people. The group is in diverse fields such as power generation and distribution, power transmission and distribution equipment and services; paper and pulp; food processing; farm forestry; chemicals; infrastructure, IT and ITES. “Consolidation involves coming together as a group, leveraging on individual and collective strengths and working together for higher ambitions and market aggressiveness,” Group Chairman, Mr Gautam Thapar, said, adding that “structuring and formalising it with a group identity is a step towards realising our defined growth path”. The 80-year-old group has gone into uncharted waters and expanded through a M&A strategy. The logo and brand was conceptualised by DMA Branding after research and survey by IMRB. The company also took inputs from stakeholders at several focus group sessions held earlier this year. More Stories on : Retailing | Announcements
