Bio-fuels centre opened at TN farm varsity

The centre of excellence in bio-fuels set up at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) was inaugurated by the State Agriculture Minister, Mr Veerapandi S. Arumugam.

The centre is equipped with a world-class bio-fuel testing lab and has the equipment like high performance liquid chromatography, lyophilisation unit, water management system, computerised oil test rig. It also houses a hall for conducting trainings.

TNAU is conducting intensive research on different tree-borne oilseed species with particular reference to jatropha and the university has identified 50 seed sources of jatropha.
