Employment Markets - Foreign Institutional Investors Our Bureau Bangalore, Nov 17 Private equity firms are wooing Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) grads this year. For the first time, PE bellwether Blackstone Group has hired at the institute. Other PE majors such as ChrysCapital, Greater Pacific Capital, Goldman Sachs PE, IDG Ventures, Temasek Holdings were also seen at the institute. The sector-wise break-up for students is investment banking at 19 per cent, private equity 11 per cent, management consulting 15 per cent, financial services 16 per cent, marketing and general management 28 per cent, systems at 8 per cent and asset management at 3 per cent. Asset management & portfolio management firms such as Franklin Templeton, Lotus AMC, HSBC Securities & Roulac visited IIMB. The number of students interning abroad has risen from 101 last year to over 110. The entire batch (249 students) was placed within a span of four days with 132 students (more than 50 per cent of the batch) being placed in Slot 0. Slot 0 also witnessed the highest number of firms coming to campus (32) offering profiles in investment banking, management consulting, private equity and general management. Major recruiters on Slot 0 included investment banking giants like Lehman Brothers ,JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Consulting majors like Bain & Co, Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co, ATKearney, said the release. Consulting majors such as Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, CapGemini continued to visit IIMB reinforcing their belief in the capabilities of IIMB students. Arthur D Little visited IIMB for the summers. Strategic management roles were offered by TAS, Lodha Group, Aditya Birla Group, Shell and IBM.
