Tuticorin port handles record cargo

Madurai, Nov. 21 Tuticorin Port handled a record cargo of 1,10,403 tonnes in a single day on November 17.

The output handled, surpassed the previous record performance of 1,05,077 tonnes achieved on September 19, 2006.

The cargo handled included maize, granite, ilmenite sand, thermal coal, industrial coal, copper concentrate and container cargoes, a release from Tuticorin Port said.
