Overseas Investments Bartronics India sets up US subsidiary; eyes acquisition The company also plans to acquire a company in the US to help tap the huge automatic identification and data capture market. Our Bureau Hyderabad, Nov. 22 Barcoding and RFID technology provider Bartronics India Ltd (BIL) has announced it has incorporated a second wholly owned subsidiary — Bartronics America Inc in the US. The company also expressed its intent to acquire a company in the US to help tap the huge automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) market. “The US incorporation is part of Bartronics vision to expand its horizon and target US, being the largest market for AIDC technology industries,” Mr Sudhir Rao, Managing Director, BIL, in a statement said. “A separate management team will attempt to replicate the successful business model of BIL in the US,” he added The BIL’s foray into the US comes after it recently incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore recently. Bartronics has embarked on a Rs 270-crore expansion plan for manufacturing of smart cards in India. For the half-year ended September 2007, Bartronics registered sales of Rs 93 crore with a net profit in excess of Rs 17 crore. The company has over 1,600 customers.
