Chennai, Nov. 29 Marg Constructions Ltd on Thursdayannounced the launch of a Rs 100 crore residential project with ‘thematic luxury villas’ that would offer its owners a weekend getaway.

The project ‘Tapovan,’ spread over 70 acres with 90 villas is coming up at Pavanjur, 85 km south of Chennai on the road linking Old Mahabalipuram Road and Madurantakam on GST Road.

At a press conference here, Mr G.R.K. Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director, Marg Constructions, said a model villa is in place and the work on the project would start in December with an aim to complete it in one year.

This project marks Marg’s entry into the luxury real estate market. Buyers will have to pay Rs 1.3 crore a villa with a 2,275 sq ft built-up area and a total covered area of 6,000 sq ft, which includes a swimming pool set in a half-acre garden, he said. Facilities in each villa include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, gymnasium or reading room and space for meditation.

Common facilities include battery operated cars for commuting within the facility, meditation centre, badminton, tennis and basketball courts.

Vedic village

The facility management will be by Heiligen Worldwide Services. Tapovan is positioned as the Silent Garden to help residents beat the stress of city living.

A unique feature of this project is that the Ojas Foundation has picked up a 10-acre plot where it is planning a ‘vedic village’ that will offer holistic health programmes based on traditional concepts.
