Our Bureau

Ahmedabad, Nov 30 The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) today said its biennial Acrex India 2008, will be held at Bangalore in February to focus on an industry whose turnover is expected to be Rs.16,000 crore in the country next year.

The theme of the event, Towards Sustainable Growth, would also focus on the fact that India losses crops and other essential commodities worth Rs.40,000 crore per annum due to lack of heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning.

With a boom in realty, pharmaceuticals companies, retail and hospitals, among others, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) sector is on an upswing across the country. The event, to be held from February 15 to 17, will focus on the growth of these and allied services, Mr S. Bhagavan, President ISHRAE, Bangalore Chapter, and other office-bearers told a press conference here.

The largest exposition of its kind so far is being partnered by companies from South Korea and China. Around 250 companies are expected to participate in the event which would be held in a 50-acre area. Over 30,000 people, including experts, builders, architects, industrialists, manufacturers, service providers and students are expected to attend it, he said. For the first time, even non-participating companies would have exhibition kiosks and technical seminars will be held.
