New Director for VSSC
Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 30
Dr K. Radhakrishnan, Director, National Remote
Sensing Agency (NRSA), has taken over as the
Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) from
Dr B.N. Suresh, who has retired. Dr Radhakrishnan
started his career in Indian Space Research Organisation
(ISRO) as an avionics engineer and went on to hold
several key positions in ISRO, according to a statement
from VSSC. He was the director of regional remote
sensing service centres under the umbrella of National
Natural Resources Management System. He was also the
Director of Budget and Economic Analysis of the entire
ISRO and the National Mission Director of Integrated
Mission for Sustainable Development. Dr Radhakrishnan
has played decisive roles at international level as Vice-
Chairman of Inter-governmental Oceanographic
Commission of UNESCO and the Founder Chairman of
Indian Ocean Global Ocean Observing System (IOGOOS),
