Syndicate Bank cuts deposit rates

Syndicate Bank has revised the rate of interest on non-residential external (NRE) term deposits and foreign currency non-resident (banks) FCNR(B) deposits with effect from December 1. Interest rates on NRE deposits for one year to less than two years have been revised to 4.46 per cent, down from 4.64 per cent. Twoyear deposit rates are down to 3.94 per cent from 4.46 per cent and for five years it is now 4 per cent, down from 4.53 per cent.

A bank release said FCNR(B) interest rates for dollar deposits for one year to less than two years was 3.71 per cent, down from 3.89 per cent. For two years to less than three years it is 3.19 per cent, down from 3.71 per cent, the release added.
