Rubber Spot rubber stays steady Aravindan Kottayam, Dec. 10 Physical rubber prices were almost steady on Monday. The domestic market failed to react in tandem with the sharp gains in Japanese futures lacking support from major consuming sectors. The January futures for RSS 3 flared up to ¥267.80 (Rs 94.60) from ¥258.4 a kg at TOCOM. Sheet rubber RSS 4 finished unchanged at Rs 91.50 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as on Saturday. Futures firmThe December futures for RSS 4 was steady at Rs 94 a kg on MCX. The December contract for the grade improved to Rs 93.61 (Rs 93.21), January to Rs 94.90 (Rs 94.37), February to Rs 96.57 (Rs 96.04) and March to Rs 98.31 (Rs 98) per kg on NMCE. The volumes stood at 1,403 (828) lots and open interest 6,924 (6,766) lots. There was moderate profit booking at higher levels which pruned the gains partially towards close. The outstanding positions were 1,314 (1,414) lots in December, 2,887 (2,844) lots in January, 2,090 (1,913) lots in February and 633 (595) lots in March on NMCE. Spot prices per kg were: RSS-4: Rs 91.50 (Rs 91.50); RSS-5: Rs 87.50 (Rs 87.50); ungraded: Rs 85.50 (Rs 84.50); ISNR 20: Rs 87 (Rs 87) and Latex 60 per cent: Rs 61 (Rs 61). More Stories on : Rubber
