Events States - West Bengal Compass 2006 may generate Rs 400 cr worth business Our Bureau Kolkata, Dec. 11 Compass 2007, scheduled to be held in Kolkata from December 14-17, is expected to help generate business of around Rs 400 crore. Compass 2006 had helped the local IT products community in eastern India to generate business of around Rs 250 crore, according to Mr Pawan Jajodia, President of the Computer Association of Eastern India, Compass. Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, Mr Jajodia said the theme for this year’s annual IT exhibition of the region was ‘Computer for Everyone’. He said that eastern India had witnessed a 28 per cent growth in computer sales in the last six months. This was higher than the national average of 22 per cent during the same period. According to him, the exhibition would showcase the latest technology products in IT hardware, peripherals and software products and services. It would also provide a sneak preview of IT products and services from leading brands that were slated to hit the market soon. This year, the exhibition would have 76 participants, 100 stalls and 20 pavilions spread across 2,500 sq metres of covered area, Mr Jajodia said. More Stories on : Events | West Bengal
